The Challenge
During the planning and development of Kathmandu Halal Shop’s website, we identified several challenges that could affect user experience and product discoverability. These gaps made it harder for visitors to browse products, trust the brand, and confidently place orders.
Unclear Product Categorization: Product listings and categories were not structured optimally, making it difficult for users to quickly find the items they were looking for.
Confusing Navigation Flow: The menu structure and product search options were not intuitive, causing users to spend extra time locating products or leave the site prematurely.
Limited Brand Storytelling: The website lacked clear storytelling about the authenticity and quality of Nepalese halal products, reducing users’ trust in the brand.
Note: The three primary issues identified were unclear product categorization, a non-intuitive navigation flow, and limited brand storytelling – each contributing to potential drop-offs and lower engagement.
To address these challenges, we focused on building a clean, visually appealing website using WordPress and Elementor, with an emphasis on user-friendly navigation, clear product presentation, and authentic brand messaging.

Insights Recommendation
The product descriptions on Kathmandu Halal Shop’s website were inconsistent and lacked sufficient detail, making it difficult for users to understand product origin, quality, and usage. While most users understood that the store offered authentic halal products, 72% of survey respondents reported confusion regarding specifics like weight, packaging, and dietary compliance, which created hesitation during the purchasing process.

During usability testing and interviews, we observed that users often had to scroll extensively or open multiple product pages to understand item details. The lack of structured information on product type, quantity, and use cases prevented users from quickly finding products that suited their needs.

Unclear information on features like '50 broadcasts per month' and '30k messages per month' further added to the confusion. This ambiguity led to an impression of incompleteness, impacting user trust and decision-making.

These findings highlighted a critical need for clearer, more descriptive, and visually structured product information across the website. Improving readability and presenting essential details prominently would help users make informed decisions more confidently.
